- The date of 9/11 was, for our family, a date sandwiched in between 9/7 (my mother in law died), 9/8 (my father died) and 9/12 (my mother had a stroke, followed by brain surgtery on 9/13). Understandably, that entir, sad week was a blur.

- Back in the 60's, my dad (who was bipolar) did a few uncalled-for things, such as slap me while I was driving the family to church, slap me for thinking I was 'smart' (had just graduated from college), and offer me regular put-downs and demeaning comments.

- Lack of personal responsibiility had a great deal to do with the current economic crisis. Putting controls in place has helped.

- None of us would want to be denied the opportunity to be fully human once again following a disaster that effectively wipes away a good part of our identity and leaves us with monumental pain as well.

- Choosing Leiberman would have made it a very close race, but I do believe that the hunger for change would have superceded even that.

- I'm already seeing it here in North Carolina. Race relations were always cordial, but now we are visibly more relaxed and open--and happy.
